Saber Healthcare Group LLC, and related entities, (Saber) have agreed to pay $10 million to resolve allegations that Saber violated the False Claims Act by knowingly causing certain of its skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) to submit false claims to Medicare

The settlement announced today resolves a lawsuit filed under the whistleblower provision of the False Claims Act, which permits private parties to file suit on behalf of the United States for false claims and to share in the government’s recovery. read more »

U.S. returns another $300 million of recovered 1MDB funds to Malaysia

The U.S. Department of Justice on Tuesday said it has repatriated another $300 million to Malaysia in recovered money misappropriated from 1Malaysia Development Berhad, or 1MDB, the country’s sovereign wealth fund.

The funds were laundered through financial institutions in several jurisdictions, including the United States, Switzerland, Singapore and Luxembourg. read more »
