Intel facing class-action lawsuit over 7nm delay

On Friday, the Hagens Berman law firm put out a call to Intel investors who suffered significant losses to contact the company for a possible class-action suit. It also seeks people who may be able to assist in its investigation of possible securities fraud.
The law firm is now investigating whether Intel misrepresented and concealed manufacturing and performance issues with its 7nm chips. It's also asking whistleblowers with non-public information on Intel to get in touch. read more »
North Carolina Announces $49 Million Medicaid Fraud Settlement with Progenity

Attorney General Josh Stein today announced a $49 million multistate settlement and an agreement in principle with biotechnology company Progenity Inc., to resolve allegations that the company fraudulently billed federal health care programs for prenatal tests and provided kickbacks to physicians to encourage them to order Progenity tests for their patients.
North Carolina will receive $50,292.24 of the settlement to resolve claims relating specifically to North Carolina’s Medicaid program. The settlement arises in part from a private whistleblower lawsuit. read more »
Pharmaceutical Company Agrees to Pay $3.5 Million to Resolve Allegations of Violating False Claims Act

Pacira Pharmaceuticals Inc. will pay $3.5 million to resolve allegations that it paid kickbacks to doctors in the form of bogus research grants to induce them to prescribe its analgesic Exparel, Attorney for the United States Rachael A. Honig announced today. The allegations arose from a whistleblower suit filed under the False Claims Act. read more »
