US authorities extradite a Swedish man allegedly involved in $11M crypto fraud

A Swedish man accused of running a business that encouraged people to invest using cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin has been extradited from Thailand to the U.S. to face criminal charges.
The man, Roger Nils-Jonas Karlsson, 45, was initially arrested in Thailand in June for alleged securities fraud, wire fraud and money laundering, according to an announcement from the U.S. Justice Department on Monday. Prosecutors allege Karlsson defrauded more than 3,500 victims for over $11 million in cryptocurrency fraud. read more »
New York attorney general sues Juul for deceptive marketing

On Tuesday, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced a new lawsuit against e-cigarette company Juul, alleging that the company misled consumers about the risks of vaping through deceptive advertising.
In its lawsuit, New York alleges that Juul’s marketing of its products downplayed their health risks and used “colorful images of attractive, young models” to appeal to minors. read more »
U.S. safety board wants Boeing to redesign 737 NG part after fatal Southwest accident

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board on Tuesday called on Boeing Co to redesign the fan cowl structure on all 737 NG planes and retrofit existing planes after an April 2018 incident in which a woman was killed on a Southwest Airlines plane due to an engine failure caused by a broken fan blade. read more »
