Law360: Medical Supply Company Collars $1.2M Patent Judgment
Laerdal Medical Corp. won a nearly $1.2 million judgment against Basic Medical Supply LLC, a competitor that was found liable for infringing Laerdal's patents for a cervical collar, according to an order issued by a Texas federal court Tuesday.
“We appreciate Judge Miller’s careful attention to the issues raised in our motion and at the evidentiary hearing, and are enormously gratified that the court has granted the damages, attorneys’ fees and permanent injunction that our client requested," Philip Graves, attorney for Laerdal, told Law360. "This judgment sends a message that Laerdal will enforce its intellectual property rights against those who refuse to respect those rights, and that the courts are willing to take strong remedial measures when a case of willful infringement is shown.”
