US to investigate car firms Hyundai and Kia over vehicle fires
US safety authorities will investigate nearly three million Hyundai and Kia vehicles over fires, in a move which could prompt mass recalls.
The inquiry by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) follows thousands of complaints about the "non-crash fires".
Incidents involving fires are linked to one death and more than 100 injuries.read more »

Subaru and Toyota may have to stop a recall for 2013 Subaru BRZ and 2013 Scion FR-S sport coupes. Reports say Toyota techs don’t know how to work on Subaru engines and some were not fixed properly. The recall is for faulty engine valve springs that may fracture causing an engine malfunction or a possible engine stall. read more »
Hackers Make Tesla Autopilot Swerve Into Oncoming Traffic Using Just Stickers
Automated cars have a hill to climb if they want to win over people's trust. A Reuters poll released yesterday revealed that half of US adults think self-driving vehicles are more dangerous than conventional vehicles, whilst a poll in March found that 73 percent of Americans say they are too afraid to ride in a fully-automated vehicle, up from 49 percent in 2017.
Researchers at cybersecurity firm Keen Lab have managed to cause a Tesla's self-driving feature to swerve off course and into the wrong lane, using just a few stickers they placed on the road. read more »
