Auto News: FCA Ram Truck Recall, Diesel Ban

FCA adds another 229K newer Ram trucks to recall list that already included 1.8M

Nearly 229,000 newer Ram pickup trucks in North America are being recalled due to the risk the vehicles could shift out of park without the ignition engaged or a foot on the brake.

According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents, if the brake pedal is pushed in for too long while running and in park, a pin could become stuck in the open position and increase the risk of a rollaway.

Back in December 2017, FCA reported it was aware of seven injuries that could be related to the recall covering certain 2010 through 2017 Ram 2500 and 3500s, 2011 through 2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs, 2016 and 2017 Ram 3500 chassis cab less than 10,000 pounds, and 2009 through 2017 Ram 1500sread more »
