Audi CEO Arrested in Connection to Dieselgate Denied Bail
The court believes Rupert Stadler could try to tamper with evidence if released.
Suspended Audi CEO Rupert Stadler, 55, was arrested in connection to Volkswagen Auto Group's "Dieselgate" emissions scandal back in mid-June. Despite prosecutors saying he could go free in a matter of days if cooperative, Stadler spent the last several weeks in detention. On Monday, his bid for freedom was denied by the Munich appeals court.
Munich appeals court documents state that Stadler "allowed the engines to be deployed and to be sold despite knowing about the manipulation or deliberately turning a blind eye on the manipulation." read more »
Former Tesla employee's tweets show allegedly flawed batteries
Martin Tripp also released a list of VINs for cars that he says are equipped with flawed battery modules.
The employee Tesla is suing for theft of proprietary information has tweeted photos and other details, perhaps in an attempt to back up some of the claims he made against the automaker. Two of the photos Martin Tripp has tweeted out show what he says is a damaged* battery module used in Model 3 vehicles before and after it was "reworked." Tripp has also released a lengthy list of Vehicle Identity Numbers. He says the cars in the list use punctured, dented or damaged battery modules. read more »
