BOSTON – United States District Court Judge Patti B. Sarris named Steve W. Berman and Thomas M. Sobol and two others to co-lead counsel in litigation against a group of pharmaceutical companies, challenging the drug companies' practice of charging for Medicare drugs based on Average Wholesale Price ("AWP").

As chairmen of the Lead Counsel Committee, Berman, Sobol and the other members of the chairmen of the Lead Counsel Committee will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the case, and manage the work of the full Lead Counsel Committee, which includes four other attorneys. The court also appointed Sobol as liaison counsel.

The court also ruled that the various cases filed across the country are to be consolidated in the case led by Hagens Berman and the other co-lead counsel members.
